As in previous years, this November HSE is launching a series of comprehensive annual surveys on university life. The surveys are conducted by the HSE Centre for Institutional Research, and traditionally, students and graduates are the first to be invited to participate.
On Campus
This year 84 applications were submitted for participation in the competition. Almost 4000 people took part in the first stage of the selection, consisting of expert reviews and public evaluation of the proposals.
Karelia, Mount Elbrus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Krasnaya Polyana, and Andorra - this winter the Extreme Sports Club invites students, alumni and HSE staff members to set off for winter adventures. While many of the events have already become solid HSE traditions, some of them are being held for the first time. The projects are supported by HSE Department of Physical Training.

HSE students and staff are invited to try their hand at yachting under the supervision of experienced instructors. The HSE Yacht Club will be holding theoretical and practical classes during the winter.
Last year a new system of teaching quality assessment was introduced at HSE. It allows bachelor’s, master’s and specialist students to express their opinion on the teaching process*. This year the first wave of TQA will last till October 23.
HSE students donated blood on the last day of the autumn Donor Marathon, which took place at the blood donation department of City Hospital No 52.
Students from universities in Russia and abroad have until October 31st to submit their applications for HSE’s open competition for research conducted in business informatics, computer science, mathematics, media communications, and political science.
The Student Initiative Support Centre has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Autumn Student Project Competition. There are no limits to project themes; they may involve an adaptation or media project, as well as cover sports, cultural or social topics. The main idea is that they are supposed to bring an improvement to HSE. Applications can be submitted by both individuals and groups, but projects must be led by an HSE student.
The HSE Printing House has been granted the right to provide commercial services for HSE students and staff, as well as for other individuals and organizations. Previously, it was only able to support HSE departments after receiving written requests from their heads. We are now pleased to invite everyone who needs printing, copying, binding, lamination, and other related services.
