After HSE University transitioned to distance learning, life in the HSE dormitories changed: most students have gone home. The number of onsite staff and service employees has been reduced. Large events have been cancelled. Student trips into the city have been limited. HSE University Life spoke with students and staff about what life under quarantine is like in the dorms.

Classes in the Master of Data Science programme have recently begun. This is the first Master’s programme in Russia taught entirely online on Coursera global educational platform. All classes are conducted in English.

Greetings from Culture Café! We are back after a long winter break. Did you miss us? We missed you! On February 5, we gathered for our first Culture Café meeting of the new year, and, as per tradition, our first meeting was devoted to our beautiful homeland – Russia.

Set to launch in the fall of 2020, HSE’s new English-taught master’s programme ‘Economics, Politics, and Business in Asia’ is now accepting applications. Students of the programme will spend their first and fourth semesters at HSE University in Moscow and their second and third semesters at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. Programme graduates will receive a diploma from each partner university. Professor Denis Shcherbakov, programme Academic Supervisor, explains what students can expect in the new programme.

HSE Study Tour Experience welcomes applications from third- and fourth-year undergraduate students who wish to learn more about HSE University and its Master’s programme offerings. The programme duration is from January 27 to February 9, 2020 at HSE University Moscow. The deadline to apply is December 30, 2019.

More than 40,000 participants from 183 countries have already registered for the Open Doors Scholarship Competition. The competition, which is held by the Association of Global Universities, gives international applicants the opportunity to enroll tuition-free in a Master’s programme of a participating Russian university of their choice without having to take entrance exams. The deadline to submit your portfolio for consideration is December 18.

It’s almost December, but we still can enjoy some warm and sunny days... What is the reason? We definitely know! It’s power of our Culture Cafés, and the latest we had was about glaring and lively Ecuador.
