HSE Master’s programmes are not only popular among Russian bachelor’s graduates but applicants from CIS countries as well. Adil Khaziev and Zafar Makhsudaliev discuss why pursuing a Master’s degree at HSE is a good choice for international students and what key advantages HSE University has to offer.

Kamola Talipova from Tashkent has been living in Russia for the past five years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at HSE University – St. Petersburg and is now pursuing a Master’s degree at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at the HSE Moscow campus. Kamola spoke with HSE News Service about St. Petersburg and Moscow, the admissions process, and studying online.

HSE University attracts international students both from countries of the former Soviet Union as well as Europe. Anna Grokhovska (Latvia), a Master’s student at the Institute of Education, and Karina Samokhvalova (Kyrgyzstan) a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Humanities, share their impressions of studying at HSE and living in Moscow.

American professor Oliver Boyd-Barrett, author of the book Media Imperialism, one of the biggest studies of the contemporary media landscape, is among the international teachers recruited to deliver remote instruction at HSE University this year. In 2021, the HSE French Club celebrates its 15^th anniversary. On February 15,Louis Ernou, a French student currently doing his Master’s in Russian Studies at HSE University, gave a talk about French history for the club members. HSE ICEF students annually are awarded prizes and commendation letters from the University of London for their academic achievements and internationally top-ranking exam scores in the international double degree programme. In addition, University of London faculty members note the high level of our students in comparison with other students from around the world.

Rashid Mustafin came to the Moscow campus of the HSE University from Aksu, Kazakhstan. He is currently in his third year studying Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication in the Faculty of Humanities.
