One fifth of all disciplines at HSE are taught in English. The classes are taught both by HSE lecturers and visiting international professors. For several years now, the curriculums have been published in Russian and English. Starting this year, exchange students can create their individual timetable with the help of online tool. For full-degree students, the timetable is now also available in English.

Interested in learning more about international programmes at HSE? Open House events are being held across HSE campuses in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Prospective students and their parents are invited to attend and learn about HSE’s English-taught education programmes.
Since 2013, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has cooperated with HSE. This year, a record number of scholarship places will be available for German students to study in HSE short-term programmes through the Go East initiative.
On November 25, the HSE Preparatory Year programme held a special welcome meeting for its new students. The aim of the event is to better acquaint them with HSE and the educational programmes it offers.
A grand opening for the third enrolment of master’s students in Global Business took place at the HSE campus in Nizhny Novgorod. The master’s programme is aimed at training managers with professional, social, and personal competencies needed for working in the global economy.

Samrat Sil, a student from Presidency University in Kolkata, India is currently studying on the Master’s programme in Applied and Interdisciplinary History at HSE St. Petersburg. The programme focuses on the analytical part of history and how it can be used and applied in our day to day life. It comprises a wide variety of crucial topics like memory, identity narratives and the use of sources in history and historiography. It also focuses on heritage and its relation to history and economy. The students are encouraged to develop their own research topics for their Master’s thesis.
On October 18, 2015 for the first time ever, the Faculty of Computer Science at HSE will host the quarter-finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest, ACM ICPC along with two other Moscow universities.
An international summer school in St. Petersburg held by the HSE History Department in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has come to a close. On September 29, 22 students from 17 German universities who had come to St. Petersburg to study Russian history, culture and language received certificates of participation in the programme. Setting off for home the following day, they took with them a unique experience of studying in Russia’s most beautiful city, as well as new ideas and an understanding of Russia and its people.
