The number of HSE students from Africa has exceeded 200 this year. Today, 235 students from 31 African countries study at the university. Last year, 175 students from 29 countries studied at HSE University.
Emmanuel Adu Sarfo, 23, from Ghana, is a second-year master's student on the HSE Economics and Economic Policy programme. He is carrying out research on the ancient roots of corruption that influence its prevalence in different countries. The new academic year is gaining momentum at the HSE Preparatory Year, with students from over 40 countries currently enrolled. The HSE News Service talked to the new students about their first impressions and the challenges of studying at HSE University and living in Moscow, while teachers of the Prep Year extracurricular clubs shared their ideas and plans for future activities.
The 2023 Admissions Campaign has started at HSE University. The range of available courses includes 89 bachelor’s and 182 master’s programmes across the university’s campuses in Moscow, St Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Perm. Among them are 13 English-taught bachelor’s programmes and 40 English-taught master’s programmes in such fields as architecture, Asian studies, IT, arts, history, mathematics, politics, psychology, economics, management, physics, chemistry, biology, law, literature and many others.
Registration is now open for the international Study Tour Experience, which gives foreign master’s applicants an opportunity to spend two weeks living as HSE University students and choose a master’s programme for further study. The Study Tour Experience will take place from November 14–28 and is available both online and in-person. Russian- and English-taught tracks are available. Participants are selected based on motivation letters.
Admission to Russia's first Master of Computer Vision online programme at HSE University has been extended until 20th September. The programme will be delivered entirely in English and has been developed by HSE researchers and leading experts from Huawei, Itseez3D, Intel, Harman, and Xperience.ai, who are all involved in cutting-edge research in the field of computer vision.
