The SNU programme (Seoul National University) was held in Moscow for the second time as part of HSE’s Summer University programme. This time, five groups of Korean students came to study Russian, three of which began studying from an absolute beginner level, with the other two groups having already studied it at home in Seoul.

On June 26, 2016, a month-long internship for students from The University of Birmingham Centre for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies (CREES) started at HSE. On July 6, 2016, the VI International Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Affairs came to a close. Run jointly by the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs and East China Normal University, with sponsorship provided by the Gorchakov Fund, this year’s school focused on the role of institutions in the new global governance architecture.

First Graduates Complete Double-degree Master’s Programme in Big Data Systems and Information Systems Management

On June 27, 2016, the first graduation ceremony for the double-degree Master’s programme in Big Data Systems and Information Systems Management was held at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. After Turning Down Offers in New York and Berlin, Chinese Student Pursues Mathematics Training at HSE

For DaoDao Yang, a native of Dali, China, choosing a programme in mathematics came down to the decision of where he felt most challenged and most comfortable. This ultimately meant turning down offers at New York University and the Berlin Mathematical School to accept an offer from the Master’s programme at the Higher School of Economics. In an extensive interview with the HSE news service, Dao Dao recently spoke about what led him to choose HSE for his postgraduate study; his impressions of the programme, its professors and his fellow students; and his future plans.

Public Policy Programme – Ten Years and Growing

On June 24, as the entire world was reeling from the Brexit vote, the centre of Moscow saw another farewell taking place at HSE, albeit one considerably more festive in nature. This was the 10th anniversary of the Public Policy programme at HSE where 35 graduates received their diploma after two years of hard work to earn their coveted Master’s degree in Public Policy.

Over 800 International Students Recommended for Full-tuition Scholarships at HSE

On July 5, the application window closed for international students who made it through the selection process for state-funded spots at the Higher School of Economics. Those students who were not selected are still able to apply to the university for tuition-paying spots, or can enrol in the university’s Preparatory Year programme.
