From October 23 to 29, 2017, the Department of Public Policy at the Higher School of Economics held a weeklong Winter School dedicated to the subject of the ‘Russian historic memory: in search of identity’. Participants from four continents came together in Rostov Veliky, one of Russia’s oldest and most historical cities.

For Hoang Thanh Tung, who recently earned his bachelor’s degree at the Institute of International Languages - Vietnam National University, the decision to pursue a Master’s degree in the Faculty of Business and Management at HSE is in some ways a homecoming. Although coming most recently from Hanoi, Vietnam, he was born in Russia and spent much of his time growing up in the country, living with his parents in both Moscow and Ufa.
After turning down two offers of admission to universities in the United Kingdom, Rifki Zulkarnaen decided to accept a scholarship offer to attend the Master’s programme at HSE’s School of Asian Studies.
On September 8, a survey of HSE international students enrolling in 2017 was launched. The goal of the survey is to learn more about our new students, their educational background, choice of university and the challenges they faced during the application process.
