The HSE Faculty of Business and Management has launched a new master’s programme, ‘Master of International Management’. The programme, which is the latest addition to the University’s wide array of English-taught programmes, will prepare students for careers in international company management.

‘I started learning Russian in Italy. I’ve lived in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but came to Nizhny Novgorod to learn Russian in “real” Russia and become an international journalist’: Alessandro Caglio, first-cohort graduate of the Master’s programme ‘Literature and Media’, speaks about intercultural communications, hypertext novels, and the Russian winter.

Abdelilah Ghazioui first came to HSE Moscow in January 2015 to attend a winter school. He liked the experience so much that he decided to enrol in HSE’s Master’s programme in Public Policy and Political Analysis the same year. In an interview with HSE News Service, Abdelilah looks back on his studies at HSE and life in Moscow and talks about his non-profit organization.

HSE University’s International Preparatory Programme has awarded diplomas to the class of 2020. International students completed their yearlong intensive studies that included a Russian language course and a variety of subject specific courses. The aim of the preparatory programme is to help international students get ready to enroll in Russian-taught full degree programmes at HSE and other Russian universities

Tu Phan is a second-year student in HSE University’s Master’s programme in Strategic Corporate Finance. She is an international student with a lot of experience living abroad: besides Vietnam, she has lived (and studied) in Azerbaijan, Italy, and now Russia. Ulyana Rusetskaya of Belarus is in her first year at the HSE Art and Design School. She entered HSE University by winning the HSE Global Scholarship Competition (GSC) for foreign citizens in the area of design. Ulyana spoke with the HSE News Service about how to prepare a project for the GSC and how the HSE community differs from other university communities. Upon graduating from university, it is not uncommon to find that your professional interests no longer align with your undergraduate area of study. Pursuing an advanced degree that allows you to pursue your real interests is a solution to this problem. At HSE University, we understand this. That is why many HSE Master’s programmes do not require applicants to hold a bachelor’s degree in the programme field.

Sangam Kumar Singh is currently finishing the second year of his Master of Science in Big Data Systems. After spending the first year at HSE Moscow, he has gone to the UK on a double degree track with Lancaster University. Sangam has talked to HSE News Service about his studies, hobbies, research interests, and future plans.
