The New Year is a time for making plans and adopting new resolutions. We have talked to HSE students and staff members about the events they are most looking forward to in the coming year, 2020, and about their wishes and hopes for the new year.

Alliance 4 Universities (Spain) have been awarded funding in this year´s round of Erasmus+ ICM awards, which will enable them  to continue the student and staff exchange programme with HSE University in 2020-2021.

If you are a newly accepted full degree student or recently hired staff member who holds a diploma or academic degree (or other qualification) that was granted outside of the Russian Federation, you will need to get your document(s) legalized for the purposes of recognition within the territory of the Russian Federation.

On July 8, amendments to Russian migration legislation regulating the registration of foreign citizens coming to the Russian Federation came into effect. They concern, in particular, HSE’s international employees and students. The most important change: you now must be registered at the place where you actually live.

HSE News Service has asked some of our teachers at HSE for any advice they might have for international students in Moscow. Arkaja Chakraverty and Renira Rampazzo Gambarato agreed to share their secrets. Ms Chakraverty, from India, is Assistant Professor at the International College of Economics and Finance and moved to Moscow in 2017. Dr Bambarato, from Brazil, is Assistant Professor at the Department of Media, Faculty of Communications, Media and Design and has been working at HSE since 2013.

In addition to interviews with international faculty members The HSE Look launches a new format – a column on how they discover different cities and interesting venues in university and beyond. On September 12-15, HSE took part in the 29th Annual Conference of the European Association of International Education, which was held this year in Seville, Spain. As a part of Study in Russia, a joint exhibition pavilion organized by the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100, HSE held over 90 meetings with current and potential partners to discuss student mobility and other cooperation opportunities.

On June 4, 2017, HSE is holding ‘The Whole World at HSE’ festival, dedicated to the cultures of different peoples. It’s a great opportunity for many international students to share information about their country’s culture and explain how Russian culture might be perceived by people with a different mentality. HSE international students and faculty have shared their views on both their and our respective cultures.

Every year, the HSE family welcomes representatives of new countries and becomes more interesting and diverse. On June 4, 2017, international students will talk to visitors about their home countries and introduce them to their cultures at The Whole World at HSE festival.
