HSE offers several scholarships that allow international students to cover part of their tuition fees in both undergraduate and graduate programmes. Scholarships are offered as a tuition discount for international students and take effect at the time of their enrolment in HSE. The scholarships are granted for the full period of studies.

Prospective international undergraduate students who submit certificates in English language and math will have them considered in their applications to study at HSE. This opportunity will be made available to applicants for fee-paying slots as part of a special competition for foreign citizens. All the details are below.
International admissions for HSE’s Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes are now open. This year, HSE is inviting applications for 52 Bachelor’s and 166 Master’s programmes across its four campuses. A number of programmes are taught in English and offer double-degree opportunities. International students can apply online. Early applications may be eligible for scholarships and tuition fee waivers.
International students have been enrolled in HSE undergraduate and graduate programmes this academic year. About 800 people will study on Russian government scholarships while the rest will pay tuition fees. Compared to last year, the number of international students among first-year fee-paying students has increased by about 80%.
From May 15- 30, bachelor’s and master’s students (from second year onwards) select their electives for the 2018/2019 academic year.
Preparatory Year at HSE aims to help students learn the Russian language in order to subsequently apply to Russian-taught Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at HSE or other Russian universities. Two recent graduates of the programme share their impressions.
On November 15, international student admissions for undergraduate and Master’s programmes opened. This year, prospective students can apply to two programmes simultaneously. They’ll be able to track the application process online in their personal profile on the HSE website where they will receive notifications on the stages of their application’s review and decisions by the admissions committee. For Sebastian Billy Anggara, a 20-year-old student from Kediri, Indonesia, coming to HSE to study has been like a dream come true. After learning about HSE from his older brother, who is studying international relations in the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, he decided to apply to the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design to do a Bachelor’s in Advertising and Public Relations. Since the programme is taught in Russian, he will first study at HSE’s Preparatory Year to master the language.
Alexander Bespalov, a first-year student in the HSE and University of London Parallel Degree Programme in International Relations, was born in Israel to parents who had emigrated from Russia.
