She had never played Ultimate Frisbee before coming to Russia. And she didn’t expect to. Manon Coyne just needed to do some sports because she did a lot in France and she didn’t find a better opportunity here in Moscow. Manon Coyne came from Marseille to study Management and Economics at HSE as an exchange student.

Kerri Matulis is majoring in Psychology and Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She is spending a semester at the Faculty of Economics of HSE. If students use any of the gym space in the HSE dormitories, they have probably seen some of these items present. While these fitness materials aid students in their quest either to get into shape or to maintain some level of physical fitness, Kerri wants to suggest that there is definitely another option, which can add to both your fitness and sight-seeing routine: running.
Applications are open until 20 June for participation in the tourist trip along Karelia’s rivers, planned by the HSE’s Extreme Sports Club. The expedition is set for July 3-12. Even people who have never canoed before are welcome, as experienced instructors will explain everything you need to know, train you all, and — importantly — be right there alongside you.
HSE’s Extreme Sports student club offers students, teachers and employees at HSE, and their friends, the opportunity to take part in a series of spring and summer trips. Trips on offer include: hiking through Crimea and Abkhazia, climbing Europe’s tallest mountain – Mt. Elbrus, an expedition to the Sayan Mountains and a surf camp in Portugal.
The Kant Sports Complex has hosted the 4 th annual Higher School of Economics Winter Sports Day, organised by the student Extreme Sports Club and the HSE Office of Public Relations.
Late last year, HSE’s Extreme Sports student club organized a trip for HSE students, instructors, staff, and their friends to an equestrian centre located 150 kilometres away from Nizhny Novgorod, and at the end of winter the club has extended an invitation to one of Georgia’s best ski resorts – Gudauri. Registration for the trip is open until February 16.
Every year Extreme Sports Club organizes trips to the mountains, so that everybody can enjoy skiing and snowboarding. From February 21st to March 1st, 2015, the Club is organizing a trip for HSE students, lecturers and staff, as well as their friends to Gudauri, one of the best ski resorts in Georgia. Registration is open until February 16th, 2015.
HSE’s Extreme Sports student club is organizing this year’s open skiing and snowboarding trip to the slopes of Mount Elbrus and Mount Cheget. The club invites not only students, alumni and staff of the HSE to participate in the event, but also their friends from other universities.
