HSE students who are interested in moving from a dorm to an apartment can obtain financial support from the university. For the 2019/2020 academic year, HSE students who live in a dorm will be offered 1,350 monthly reimbursements amounting to RUB 10,000.

On July 8, amendments to Russian migration legislation regulating the registration of foreign citizens coming to the Russian Federation came into effect. They concern, in particular, HSE’s international employees and students. The most important change: you now must be registered at the place where you actually live.

Recently, the HSE student community has been disturbed by the news that from now on, authorization is required for wifi access at Dubki dormitory and Dormitory 8. Representatives of the Student Council met the staff of the Office of Information Technology and found out the details.

The registration of student organizations started on February 15, 2017. Registered organizations will receive a ‘guaranteed basic budget’ as well as other forms of support, such as the provision of premises, transport services, and information support. One fifth of all disciplines at HSE are taught in English. The classes are taught both by HSE lecturers and visiting international professors. For several years now, the curriculums have been published in Russian and English. Starting this year, exchange students can create their individual timetable with the help of online tool. For full-degree students, the timetable is now also available in English.

The HSE Association of Students and Alumni of the CIS and Baltic Countries is expanding its presence and is currently transforming into the International Student Association. The Association invites all foreign students to join, not only those from CIS countries, but from the non-CIS as well. Starting this year, English language papers by Russian and international students at HSE will be tested for plagiarism using the Turnitin service. HSE is one of the first Russian universities to join this anti-plagiarism system.
