INTERNATIONAL MENTORING PROGRAM

Selin Turan is a Researcher at War Child's Research and Development department and supports the implementation and management of the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (GPE KIX) multi-year global research programme, implemented in Chad, Sudan, and Uganda. She is the focal point for the programme's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for impact, cross-country policy network analysis, and knowledge consolidation. Selin graduated from HSE in 2018 and obtained her Master's in Public Policy and Political Analysis, with a focus on Human Rights and Democratic Governance in non-Western countries. Her interests and expertise include knowledge consolidation, understanding the relationship between evidence, policy and practice, and analysing social networks in policymaking and implementation processes. Her previous experience includes emergency response, project development and grant management roles in the development sector including various positions at UNICEF, ACTED, and War Child.

The company plays a prominent role in major international strategic programmes and is a trusted technological partner of governments, defence agencies, institutions and enterprises.

About the unit: composed of ex-consultants and internal resources to support Group Entities in the development and delivering of strategic projects.

Academic background: I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Business at LUISS Guido Carli (Rome, Italy) in 2017, during which I spent 5 months at the European Business School (Wiesbaden, Germany) as an Erasmus Student. In 2017 I was selected to participate to the Double Degree Program in Management between LUISS Guido Carli and HSE University (Moscow, Russia). For this reason, I spent the first year of my Master Degree at LUISS, while my second year at the HSE. In 2019 I graduated in both Universities.

Current employment: since 2019 I have been working at Leonardo as a Business Analyst in the Transformation Program Unit. During these years, I have been involved in a wide range of projects (e.g. strategy, finance, marketing and HR). In particular, I support the realization of projects from the design phase to implementation, ensuring consistency with deadlines (e.g. meeting management, document preparation, team coordination,...). In addition, I perform operational tasks on projects (e.g. collecting data from internal and external stakeholders, building models for data analysis, delivering business insights from analysis,...).

Previous employments: in early-2019 I won an internship at the Italian Embassy in Moscow at the Economic and Trade Department, while in late-2019 I have been teaching assistant in Markets, Regulations and Law at LUISS Guido Carli. Even though these two experiences were completely different from my current job, they helped me a lot in expanding my network and developing soft-skills that revealed to be useful later. 

Extracurricular activities: I have already participated in a mentoring programme at LUISS as a mentee, I found the experience useful for clarifying some doubts I had about my career path and for expanding my network. I am a great believer in mentoring programmes because they are a great opportunity to share knowledge and experience and to meet people you would hardly have had the chance to meet.

I am a communications and brand expert as well as producer with 9 years of experience working on significant communication projects with a focus on caring for the environment, society and establishing corporate governance. My clients and employers include Instagram, Facebook, IKEA, Diageo and Teva.
I help people, communities and businesses reconnect and create new meanings to attract customers, strengthen reputation, corporate culture and ultimately make the world a better place.
I'm inspired by increasing consciousness in the processes and projects as I believe it leads to the meaningful results.
I've had an experience of mentoring people - this summer I provided mentorship support to two interns at my current company.

I graduated in 2016 with a degree in World Economy and International Affairs from HSE. I pursued my master's in France at ESSEC Business School, during which I interned as a Junior digital transformation consultant at IBM France. After graduating, I relocated to Luxembourg to work at Deloitte, where I assisted companies in utilizing data and technology for data-driven, customer-centric decisions. Currently, I hold a role in Business and Strategy at BlaBlaCar, where I provide data-driven insights to empower stakeholders for positive business and societal impacts. I am enthusiastic about personal and professional development and a growth mindset and would love to take this opportunity to share and learn.

I graduated from the Social Sciences faculty at the Political Science and World Politics program in 2021.
I have worked very many different jobs in my life while I was studying. After graduation from HSE, I went on to get a master degree at Leiden University (Netherlands) in Crisis and Security Management: Cybersecurity Governance. While I was studying I got an internship at Accenture and after graduation I became a Cybersecurity Consultant  in Accenture. 
I work with global multinationals to make them cyber resilient and protect them from cyber threats. 
I’ve never been a mentor but I have always dreamt about becoming one. It’s something special to help a mentee in his/her steps towards a bright future and career.

I've graduated from the Faculty of Economic Science. Currently I am in charge of procuring equipment and materials for mining operation and expansion project in different countries and assure the smooth operation of projects. I am proud that I am working with different complicated external factors in current situations that are not always within my control but still overcoming these complications and assuring the successful operations.  Formulation of new procurement strategies for future company operation is also a key in my current work.
Previously I've had been working at Ozon and have been in charge of expanding international supplier base from scratch and facilitating the business process optimization. 

Cong (Charles) Wang is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Sapienza University of Rome. His research mainly focuses on applied econometrics with a strong emphasis on areas including asset pricing, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing, and sustainable development. He graduated from the Higher School of Economics in 2020, majoring in Finance.

I graduated with an MA in Population and Development. I was on study leave from my Ministry here in Ghana and as such had to return to continue my official duties as a District Agricultural Officer in Birim North District of the Eastern Region. HSE University really shaped me and it is evident in my delivery at my work place after my education. 
I have worked with people on field demonstrations which is more or less mentoring.

Sellita graduated from HSE in 2020 and obtained her Master's in Politics, Economics and Philosophy, with a focus on The Impact of Social Media on the Indonesia Presidential Election. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Department of International Relations at Jayabaya University, Jakarta, Indonesia. She also works as a political consultant with the project of the upcoming Presidential Election in Indonesia in 2024. In this area, she helped one of the candidates run a political campaign on social media. She’s also on the ongoing project of writing her first scientific book about global issues with some perspective. 

I graduated from HSE University with a major in Sociology. Currently, I hold the position of Lead Data Scientist at Novelsoft LLC where I spearhead data-driven business transformations and guide my team in various data projects. In 2022, I headed the "Nationwide Labour Market Information System (LMIS) - Mongolia" project, transforming the way labor market data was processed in the country. I designed a sophisticated system comprising four tri-fold job matching algorithms, each with seven modules and over 20 unique features that emphasized inclusivity. Leveraging distributed processing, this system was monumental in facilitating the hiring of over 11,000 job seekers within just six months of its nationwide implementation.
Previously, I've been associated with data analyst, data engineer, data scientist and senior data scientist. These roles shaped my data analytical skills and honed my expertise in research. During my tenure at VTB Bank, I took the lead on a sentiment analysis project of bank customers, a task that introduced me to the intricate world of customer-centric data analysis.
I have mentored individuals informally in the past, sharing my expertise and guiding them on their professional journeys.

In 2008, I earned my degree from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. My education continued at the Institut Français du Pétrole, where I specialized in Oil & Gas Company Management in 2012. This was complemented by an invaluable internship at General Electric in Florence. For a decade, I served the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan, overseeing analytical processes for significant construction projects. My diverse experience also includes a tenure in the banking sector. In 2022, I achieved a Master’s degree at Computer Science Faculty (HSE). Presently, I lead the research division at Forus Data, directing the development of algorithms for medical imaging analysis.

Hi! My name is Rahul, I graduated from department of psychology in the year 2020. I am certified communication fitness coach, strategic consultant, researcher, and seasonal writer.

I believe in continuous learning and hold two masters, 5 online courses, and still exploring. Core skills in which I excel are interpersonal and strategic communication skills. I use these skills and knowledge to understand human behavior, especially Interpersonal emotions regulations (IER), effective communication strategies, and the power of media narratives. These capabilities also allow me to connect, build strong, and fruitful relationships with unknown, clients, stakeholders, and partners at work and in general.

I specialize in urban planning, regional development, and the innovative prototyping of future cities. As the founder of IAArchitects in Islamabad, Pakistan, my daily tasks involve the meticulous scheduling and management of various projects in the fields of planning and interior design. Currently, I am leading a significant project involving the design of a hospital, where my responsibilities include enhancing the exterior facade and creating captivating animations. In addition to this, I am also overseeing various interior projects and ensuring their successful execution.
My journey in architecture began as a junior architect, where I gained invaluable experience during my university internship. This early experience played a crucial role in honing my practical skills and prepared me for the demands of the field. Starting your career in a new company can be a challenging experience, and the knowledge and skills gained during my internship were instrumental in adapting to the professional world.

I completed my bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations in 2020 and that was just the beginning.
Three years later, I work as a Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager at an amazing startup called Printify that helps people become entrepreneurs. I am the only manager of the affiliate program that has over 10,000 affiliates and influencers. My job is to build strong and successful relationships with existing partners and always look for ways to attract new ones. Some of my tasks include developing strategies on a quarterly basis, creating campaigns to increase engagement with our partners, reaching out to new influencers to negotiate the best placement for our company in their content, etc.
I had a few internships early in my career and it definitely helped me figure out what I didn't want to do and what I could learn more from. I always heard that experience in marketing is more important than any course, so I decided to work as an intern in my second year of university, without any salary. But it was worth it!

Hi Students! My name is Roel, I'm a 26 year old currently working as a project manager in the Hague. Two years ago I succesffully graduated with a double master in economic psychology from the HSE and Tilburg university in the Netherlands. Afterwards I started working as a management trainee within a corporate in the Hague. The tasks I've worked are related to various topics. I've been a manager of a group of 25 workers in a distribution center, here I learned some great leaderskip skills and overcame some personal challenges. Next to this I've digitalised the company's management systems and I've worked on securing a PSO certificate, where we had to overcome the challenge of talking to more than 1500 employees who needed some extra support. 

As a management trainee we were trained by 'de baak', a dutch institute related to personal development. Here I've taken some modules where we were taught to get out of our comfort zone and challenge yourself. It has given me a lot of experience and I'm sure you can benefit from this as a mentee.

Major interest: classical set theorem management principle using internet of things and big data. Modernity has reduced traditional way of rigorous assumption of problem solving in terms of mobility, regenerative and productive health.
As an undergraduate, I had the privilege to explore and research on gender and self-esteem as predictors of cyber bullying in the University in Osun State of Nigeria in 2014. During masters I worked on relationship between personal values and sociocultural adaptation of international students experience in HSE in 2018.
