Discovering Science through Russian Language: HSE Prep Year Students Present at International Conference in Kazan
On May 23, 2026, the V International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Discovering the World of Science’ took place in Kazan at the Preparatory Faculty for International Students of Kazan Federal University. Four students of the HSE International Preparatory Year took part in the event: two delivered their presentations in person, while two participated online. Their work was supervised by Acting Director of the International Prep Year Irina Isaeva and lecturer Ekaterina Kozhemyakova.

Anna Gonzales, a Peruvian graduate of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HSE University, completed her Master’s in International Business in 2024. Currently based in Moscow, she works remotely as Marketing Team Lead at Digital Tide, an international IT company. In this interview, Anna reflects on her academic journey at HSE University. On October 9–10, the first-ever HSE International Alumni Reunion brought together graduates from various cohorts and programmes—now working in Russia and abroad—along with representatives of HSE University and its industry partners. Boris Senin Carhuallanqui Parian, 31, comes from the small town of San Martin de Pangoa in Peru. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering from Continental University, he decided to enrol in the Master’s programme in Science, Technology and Innovation Management and Policy at the HSE University Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK). In his interview, he talks about the application process, the university’s Latin-American Club, and why his studies at HSE can help improve relations between Russia and his home country.

On December 23, students of the HSE Preparatory Year got together for a festive Russian speaking club. They expanded their vocabulary and cultural outlook by immersing themselves in Russian winter holiday traditions and even played the role of Ded Moroz—the Russian Santa.
