What is project work?

A project is an independent, organised activity aimed at finding a solution to a practical or theoretically significant problem. Projects enable students to acquire, consolidate or develop the practical knowledge or skills needed in their future career. 

What types of projects are available?

There are the following types of projects:

• mandatory - fixed in the curriculum and implemented as part of a degree programme;
• optional - available for independent selection by the student from the list of projects approved by their academic supervisor

Projects are also divided by the type of work: applied, service, research. This must be paid attention when submitting an application. 

How to participate in the project?

Students can select projects using the university-wide Project Fair website, based on their academic and professional interests. More information about the Project Fair service is available here.

How is project work organised at Vyshka?

The project approach, namely solving complex problems through various cases, is considered to be one of the most effective methods of acquiring new knowledge, and therefore HSE University actively implements it.

Since 2021 HSE Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni has been involved in project work. The following projects were implemented at the Centre:

• Survival Russian: basic communication
• HSE Mechta Magazine
• Culture Shock and Ways to Overcome it
• Social media channels for international students
