New Features in the Scheduling System

One fifth of all disciplines at HSE are taught in English. The classes are taught both by HSE lecturers and visiting international professors. For several years now, the curriculums have been published in Russian and English. Starting this year, exchange students can create their individual timetable with the help of online tool. For full-degree students, the timetable is now also available in English.

'I Want to Convince Students that Having an Ombudsman Is Helpful and Effective'

International Student Association Expanding its Presence at HSE

The HSE Association of Students and Alumni of the CIS and Baltic Countries is expanding its presence and is currently transforming into the International Student Association. The Association invites all foreign students to join, not only those from CIS countries, but from the non-CIS as well. Iron Egg: Solid Results of 2015

The Iron Egg awarding ceremony has taken place at Sunlight Studio Hall club in Moscow. The prize is awarded to HSE students for their extracurricular initiatives.

Iron Egg to Be Awarded on December 11th

On December 11th the annual student award ceremony Iron Egg, which recognizes the best student projects and achievements in extracurricular areas, will be held at HSE.

Language Tandem

Language Tandem, a new project at HSE in Nizhny Novgorod, has been launched. The project involves 15 international exchange students, who came to Nizhny Novgorod from France and Italy, master’s students of Global Business from Austria and Italy, who have just started learning Russian, and 15 Russian students from various faculties who are studying foreign languages. The participants shared their impressions of the first meetings.

MIEM Tourclub at the Sports Tourism 'Races in Fours' Competition

The sports tourism contest where teams of four (hence the name) compete against each other was held in the Greater Moscow Area. Hundreds of teams from all over Russia and Belarus took part. HSE was represented by 11 students and 3 alumni. The events included long distance running and crossing ravines with ropes. 

HSE to Have Student Ombudsman and an All-HSE Student Council

HSE is holding elections for the Student Council and for the post of Student Ombudsman or  rights defender. Grant allocations and student expulsions, financing student projects and renewing degree courses are just a few of the things student self-governing bodies are involved in but it’s enough to show why every student should vote.

Italian Adventures in Russia

Alessandra Marabini and Francesca Di Furia are Italian exchange students living in Nizhny Novgorod. They are from University of Bergamo and have come to HSE on an exchange semester to study Economics and Russian Language. Both of them have been to Russia before so they are not fazed by the unfamiliar things they see going on around them. Nevertheless, as they tell us below, something new and surprising seems to happen to them everyday. The things that struck them most during their month in Nizhny Novgorod are public transport and the old houses.  

HSE Student Guided Tours Offer Unique Insight into Moscow

The Student Initiative Support Centre and the HSE Faculty of Humanities are jointly organising free guided tours around Moscow. The tours are designed by final year students. Most tours are in Russian but the organizers are ready to schedule additional English-language tours for international students.
