While preparing for studying at HSE international, students can build up a preliminary study plan by choosing  courses from a variety of English-taught and/or Russian-taught courses.

HSE Course Guide in English
(only for English-taught courses)

HSE Course Guide in Russian
(for both Russian and English-taught courses)

How to use HSE course catalogues?
We strongly advise you to read the Course search instructions to facilitate the course search process.

Course catalogue is not updated. What should I do?
Usually Course Catalogue is completely updated by mid-August.  For now, you are welcome to look through the current Course Catalogue and find courses suitable for you.

There are two types of courses at HSE:

Compulsory
always on schedule andheld annually on a regular basis

Elective
optional and offered only if 20 students are registered

Can I enroll for all courses I would like to take?
Exchange students are not allocated to any particular study programme or faculty and are free to take courses from any faculty at any level of study.
Things to keep in mind when choosing courses:

Admission on a first come, first served basis.Should be approved by your home universityMay have prerequisites (a Transcript of Records/a Letter of Recommendation/an entrance test)

A course may be cancelled/postponed or the timetable may be changed due to:

─professor’ plans changed;
─programme redesign.

Make sure the courses do not overlap and you have time to travel between HSE buildings

What if there is no syllabus of the course I want to take (or it is only in Russian)?
Please contact program coordinator directly (more at p.9 in Course search instructions ).

How can I find the schedule of the courses?
The final schedule of courses is available several weeks prior to the start of studies. To find out the preliminary timetable you are welcome to contact the coordinators of the programmes where the courses are taught.
Course enrollment process is outlined in the Course Enrollment Scheme.
If you have concerns when choosing appropriate courses, please contact SIMO at international.study@hse.ru
