Student Integrity & Copyright

Plagiarism is the use of another person’s writing published in paper or electronic documents (home assignments, reports, essays, tests, exam papers, term papers, and diploma) without proper reference to it. There are two types of plagiarism:

  • verbatim reproduction of another person’s writing;
  • paraphrase – reproduction of another person’s writing with replacement of words and expressions and without changing the content of the borrowed text.

Students should write all their papers  independently. Teachers may ask for papers to be checked  with the 'Plagiarism Checker' system. In this instance  a student should hand in their paper to a teacher in electronic format (doc, pdf, rtf, txt).

A student bears responsibility for plagiarism in all their work. If the originality of any of it  is called in question, a teaching professor gives a student an unsatisfactory grade (0 on 10-point scale). Such work is considered not completed.
